Ads.com is the first–ever comprehensive consumer website for accessing television commercials and related product/promotional information.

The Ads.com website allows consumers to find network commercials by brand name, product name, or by the particular television program in which the commercial ran. Consumers can play the commercial, receive detailed product information, and provide feedback to advertisers.

Locate ads by television program or brand/product name

The site is capable of delivering unparalleled consumer response data. For example, reports generated by the system allow advertisers to compare the effectiveness of their ads to other ads across the same product category or within the same television program. Advertisers can also gather important detailed information about what interests consumers, including product information, retail locations and music soundtracks, and ultimately what types of consumers are interested in a particular commercial. All of these capabilities are possible through the content management and statistics-generating systems developed by Alki Technology.

In addition to providing a rich feature set to consumers and advertisers, the Ads.com website is robust enough to handle more than 50 thousand users on a daily basis. The site also performs well under heavy load during special, commercial events such as the Superbowl, the Daytona 500, and the Academy Awards. Additionally, for such events, the content management and administrative tools developed by Alki Technology enable Ads.com to add new commercials and other content in real-time.

The most recent event covered by Ads.com was the 2002 MTV Movie Awards. Ads were added to the site in real time as each commercial aired. The ability to update the site in this manner allows ads-enthusiastic consumers to use the site as a companion for live events. At the completion of each commercial, consumers had instant access to specific product and other related information — not to mention the ability to watch the ad over and over via streaming video.

As Ads.com continues to grow, Alki Technology will continue to support their success with new and innovative features. Project Notes:
Due to the aggressive schedule of Ads.com, the entire website, including content management tools, was completed on a development cycle of just over two months. The inception of the project was in late November, 2001 and the site was live and ready for the Superbowl on February 3rd.
